4th Year Electrical Apprentice – Solar and Battery Installation

Finish your fourth year on real solar installs. Three roles across Victoria, with a clear path to A Grade and crew leader.

What you'll do

HTHA are taking on three fourth year apprentices. You will finish your time on real solar work.

You will install and commission solar panels, batteries and EV chargers. The work covers homes and businesses across Victoria, including Melbourne. You will work next to A Grade electricians who sign off the job.

Every install is done to Australian Standards and Clean Energy Council rules. You will learn to that standard from the people who check it.

This is a fixed term contract. A clear path comes with it. You start as an apprentice, move up to A Grade, then lead a crew. Once you qualify, the company pays for further training and tickets. All safety gear is supplied.

You need to be in your fourth year of an electrical apprenticeship, on the renewable stream. You must have hands-on solar experience. This one is a must, not a nice to have. You also need a White Card and a current driver licence. You should be happy working at heights on ladders, scaffolds and roofs.

We run a police check and a right to work check when you start. The job includes some travel. You may need to stay away overnight now and then.

A regular apprentice earns $26.86 an hour. An adult apprentice earns $29.29 an hour. Both rates include leave loading. Neither includes super.

You also get a day of birthday leave and a self care day each year. Flu shots are free. You get 50 per cent off RACV home and car insurance, plus free roadside assist for one car. There are regular toolbox meetings and BBQs. You can claim up to $250 a year for lifestyle, $300 for sport and $200 for glasses or contacts. Free counselling is there for you and your family through Converge, any time.
